Meet the Artist, Alisa Singer
Alisa believes that climate change is the most urgent challenge of our time and sought to harness her art as a tool for raising awareness. Drawn to the inherent beauty of scientific charts and graphs, she was inspired by the idea of reinterpreting data through art to give it greater emotional and visual impact.
This vision led to the creation of Environmental Graphiti® and its flagship series, The Art of Climate Change - a collection of abstract digital images that transform climate science into striking works of art. Each of the 100+ pieces in the collection is derived from a chart, graph, map, word, or number representing a key fact about climate science, or is inspired by broader environmental themes.
Since its inception, Environmental Graphiti® has been widely exhibited across the United States and internationally. Dozens of universities now own collections, including Georgetown University, The University of California - Irvine, and Loyola University - Chicago. and a major science museum in Toronto has also acquired pieces. The work has been featured on the covers of many important scientific publications, including three landmark reports by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) including:
