The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum of the Chicago Academy of Sciences announced that a Flight of Butterflies arrived at the museum on April 25, 2024.
“This spectacle is an expansive, city-wide outdoor exhibit combining nature, art, and storytelling to deliver a powerful and memorable experience to Chicagoans of all ages. Local artists adorned aluminum butterfly sculptures with original designs, expressing their unique connections to nature.”
Environmental Graphiti is thrilled to have created one of these vibrant butterflies. Titled Choosing Our Planet’s Future, the butterfly was displayed at the museum (2430 N Cannon Drive, Chicago) until mid-July, 2024, before moving to its home in the North Pond section of Chicago’s Lincoln Park - 2610 N. Cannon Drive, in front of the North Pond Café - where it will remain until the end of summer of 2025.
Here is a clip from a TV interview on the show Spotlight Chicago featuring Alisa, the CEO of the museum and the butterfly.
