Projected Sources of Electricity

What’s Inspiring

By mid-century renewable energy is projected to double as a source of electricity, rising from 19% to 38% of total electricity generation. Coal as a source of electricity is expected to be reduced by almost half, from 24% to 13%, and nuclear energy sources are also expected to decline significantly. Natural gas is expected to remain as a steady source of electricity over this period, representing a little over a third of total electricity production.
